Joint Programme Approval Process

The MDG-F Steering Committee launched calls for proposals on the eight programme areas in a phased manner, open to the 59 eligible countries. A key criterion for selection of proposals was the measurable impact on the achievement of the MDGs and the Millennium Declaration. The process, detailed below, entailed the formulation by UN country teams of a Concept Note coherent with the UNDAF and national development priorities. If approved, this Concept Note was further developed into a Joint Programme document endorsed by the National Steering Committee. The review and approval process for each programme areas was coordinated by a specific UN Agency called a Convenor.

The Convenor for each MDG-F Programme Area was as follows:

Concept Note and Joint Programme Approval Process

Terms of Reference and Expert Committee Biographies

Children, Food Security and Nutrition

Environment and Climate Change

Culture and Development

Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

Economic Governance

Development and the Private Sector

Conflict Prevention and Peace building
