Early transplanting of Tinawon rice
Small-scale indigenous farmers in Ifugao Province are learning that early transplanting of Tinawon rice produces higher yields. Early transplanting enhances the tillering capability of the indigenous rice plants, increases survival rates, and shortens the maturity period. Here farmers perform a traditional dance before planting.
