Miao villagers in a cultural mapping exercise

What makes Baijiu Village unique? These Miao villagers in Congjiang province are taking part in a cultural mapping activity aimed at helping them identify their village’s cultural resources.


Funded by the MDG-Fund, UNESCO has led cultural mapping in 11 pilot villages covering five major ethnic minorities. After identifying their community’s special culture and traditions, community members conduct a range of activities to record, conserve and use these elements for economic and social development.
