Fifty families of the indigenous Shuar people are promoting biodiversity within their agriculture by cultivating foods native to the area and by raising awareness about the cultural importance of food.

The main objective of the group, whose work is supoprted by the MDG-F, is to strengthen food security and develop a system of producing native seeds, with the potential of establishing a seed bank in the future. They hope to refine their production system so that it can serve as a model for other communities.
