Alliances for Culture Tourism in Eastern Anatolia

Alliances for Culture Tourism in Eastern Anatolia UN Joint Program was launched in Ankara on 18 November 2008. This program will be funded by the Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund (MDG-F) entrusted to United Nations by the Government of Spain and will be managed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in cooperation with United Nations organizatons (UNDP, UNESCO, UNICEF, UNWTO). The Joint Program aims to promote culture tourism in Kars and the region of Eastern Anatolia.

January, 2010- Ethiopia concluded a one and a half day national inception workshop by launching a joint program on children, food security and nutrition by Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Federal Ministry of Health, the UN Resident Coordinator's Office, UNICEF, WFP, WHO and FAO with a generous contribution of 7 million USD received from the Spanish government.

Workshop on gender in media education to take place in Namibia next week

November, 2009- UNESCO organizes a one-day workshop for journalism academics and media practitioners in order to present the findings of the Audit of Gender in Media Education and Training in Namibia. The Audit assessed the situation in two institutions in Namibia, in the framework of a larger audit being conducted in 50 institutions in 14 countries of Southern Africa.
