Main Achievements

The programme will contribute to overcome youth employment challenges, their relationship with migration dynamics and lay the foundations for the implementation of a national policy on youth employment. The primary focus will be disadvantaged youth at risk of migrating and domestic workers.
The programme aims to increase training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable youth through entrepreneurship, technical training schemes, the use of remittances and a greater respect for employment rights. It will strengthen national capacities, focusing on those already in place and those policies that need to be developed. The outcomes are: increased capacity to generate income and employment for disadvantaged and vulnerable youth; better conditions for the productive use of remittances and enhanced migrant awareness; and the development of a strategy regarding paid domestic employment being incorporated into the strategy for youth employment.
